We transformed this large 5000 sqft field of grass into a beautiful dahlia garden bordered by rows of native flowering and medicinal perennials. There is a maturing border of hyssop, yarrow, autumn joy sedums, golden raspberry, lupine, feverfew, nootka rose, and more. Here we are using native and medicinal plants for insect pest management, herbal products, and seed. Each year we add wood chips or straw as mulch to build soil and reduce weed pressure.
